I’m gonna miss Sandbox…

I’m gonna miss Sandbox…

Never thought I’d hear a kids choir sing the song from the end credits of Portal. Pretty awesome.

But there’s no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

Atticus Finch, Tupac, and Biggie?! Love it.
The painting is by Dave MacDowell, whose new show “The Sins of Atticus Finch” opened last week at the Thinkspace Gallery in Los Angeles. Show statement:“As a kid, I always loved “To Kill A Mockingbird”, and wished Atticus Finch was my dad. To be guided by such ethical wisdom would have made me a better person, I imagine. But nobody’s perfect, and our imperfections dictate the core of this new series, working on both superficial and deeper levels. On the surface is a colorful, humorous romp where we poke fun at celebrity culture and media. Yet the undercurrent is all about how society is bent on correcting wrongs by repressing everyone. It’s always fun to explore how we’re repressed by our parents, “The Man” and the method’s used to repress ourselves.”

What’s really happening to the VC industry?

What’s really happening to the VC industry?

Enjoy the weather. Meet some girls. Get out of my office, NOW!

Getting an audience to hate a corporation is like shooting really slow fat fish in a really small, well lit barrel that you’re standing over with a laser scoped machine gun.

“Raised $2MM today boys”

NYTimes Excerpt

God, Republicans are saps. They think that they’re running against some academic liberal who wouldn’t wear flag pins on his lapel, whose wife isn’t proud of America and who went to some liberationist church where the pastor damned his own country. They think they’re running against some naïve university-town dreamer, the second coming of Adlai Stevenson.

But as recent weeks have made clear, Barack Obama is the most split-personality politician in the country today. On the one hand, there is Dr. Barack, the high-minded, Niebuhr-quoting speechifier who spent this past winter thrilling the Scarlett Johansson set and feeling the fierce urgency of now. But then on the other side, there’s Fast Eddie Obama, the promise-breaking, tough-minded Chicago pol who’d throw you under the truck for votes.

This guy is the whole Chicago package: an idealistic, lakefront liberal fronting a sharp-elbowed machine operator. He’s the only politician of our lifetime who is underestimated because he’s too intelligent. He speaks so calmly and polysyllabically that people fail to appreciate the Machiavellian ambition inside.

Really? How do they do that? I’m reading an article about private equity yes, but how does the CPU know I’m black?
